Description:
Cypress Cottage offers the discerning traveller the opportunity to indulge in the relaxed atmosphere and elegant comfort of an 18th century Cape Colonial homestead. The main house has been authentically restored and is recognised by the Swellendam Trust as being one of the oldest Swellendam residences (Circa 1796).
Accommodation consists of seven elegantly furnished and very spacious en suite double rooms (single beds and baby cots also available). All rooms have great attention to detail and themes range from Cape Colonial, African Safari to Old Victorian (honeymoon and executive suite). The rooms are also furnished with aircon, heaters, electric blankets, TV, comfort chairs, mini fridge and coffee/tea trays.
Inclusive in the price, a full English breakfast is served, which includes seasonal fruit and yoghurts. The homestead also has a refreshing swimmingpool with wooden deck from which you can enjoy the fantastic garden with abundant birdlife and big Oak trees. Braai facilities are also available.
The guesthouse is within walking distance from other historic places (museums etc), restaurants and the town centre. So if you are looking for authentic style and tranquility - welcome and make yourself at home ........
