The Gumtree Guest House is one of the finest accommodation options in Oudtshoorn, overlooking the Grobbelaars River and the historic Suspension Bridge.
This guest house offers luxury and charm, in the shade of a century old giant Gumtree.
We are very close to the centre of town but have a beautiful view. Many restaurants and attractions are as little as 3 minutes, and no more than 10 minutes, walking distance for guests.

All our rooms offer the comforts of air conditioning, safes, hairdryers, toiletries, electric blankets, free WiFi Internet access, TVs, tea/coffee trays and minibar fridges. Each room has its own external entrance from the garden.
Four of the rooms open onto a wooden deck which faces the river, Suspension Bridge and Swartberg Mountains. Sitting on the deck taking in the scenery is very peaceful. We also have a 2-bedroomed self-catering cottage available which is ideal for a family of four and includes fridge, microwave, double hotplate, toaster and kettle. Additional amenities available to guests include secure off-street parking, satellite television, laundry services, and telephone/fax facilities.
The garden and pool-deck offer stunning vistas of the Swartberg Mountains. Mornings are special as the many varieties of birds in the garden are at their most active. The resident Hadida Ibises are frequently to be seen and heard around the river, while Anker the Owl is sometimes found perched in the Gumtree in the early morning.
The West-facing pool-deck captures the afternoon sun making it ideal for relaxing after a busy day, and it often witnesses a spectacular sunset. One may enjoy a Sundowner on the bar deck during the summer months, and appreciate the warmth generated by the fireplaces in the bar, lounge and dining rooms during chilly winter nights. The cosy bar is ideal for pre-dinner cocktails or post-dinner nightcaps.
Health, Continental or Farm-style breakfasts are served. Evening meals are available on request and braai (barbeque) facilities are available in the garden and on the pool-deck.
